The Theory of The Book of Life

First day of 2014. I read it on many people’s timeline that today is going to be the first blank page of the 365 page book of 2014. It depends upon you what you write down on it.
But is it really so? Are we really holding the pen while writing the book of life? Are we really strong and capable enough to change what gets written in this book?
Many people would say yes. Even I would say yes but I do not completely agree to my own answer. Yes, we can change a few things. We can change our actions and priorities. We can change what paths we choose and what kind of experiences get jotted down on the book this year.
But can we change our story of disappointments? Can we change what we feel at a particular moment? Can we change what makes us feel good and what makes us feel bad?
The theory of you being the master of your book is only applicable to the things like your actions, your choices and your experiences. The theory isn’t suitable for your thoughts and emotions.
If you’re disappointed, you are disappointed. No one can change that. If someone very close to your heart has hurt you, you cannot ignore that. If someone didn’t stand well on your expectations, you cannot ignore that. If someone broke your trust, you cannot ignore that. And these would definitely be written on that book of yours.

Is there any way out then? Is it possible that we somehow stop all these disappointments and bad emotions to be a part of our book of life this year? Is it possible for me or anyone to write this book perfectly with his own will where everything happens according to him and just him?
